David Makepeace
A Toronto filmmaker, this was his 9th total solar eclipse. His website,
www.eclipseguy.com includes a trip
report, and 3 short films (the eclipse, the Sahara week and Tripoli and the
Roman ruins). He also has clips and photos available of numerous other
eclipses, as well as eclipse links.
The May 6, 2006 Canadian newspaper, The National Post carried
an article about him and the Libyan trip.

way to attempt to capture a little of what the naked eye sees.

2008: The next Total Solar Eclipse
The
next total eclipse will occur on Aug. 1, 2008. It will begin in the Canadian
Arctic archipelago, cross Greenland into Siberia, Mongolia and China. (Eclipse
travel is usually exciting; not often convenient). Weather prospects along the
path aren't great. But here are a few links to whet your appetite:

eclipse tours planned:
one covering the "Great Cities of Russia"' another that will take you to
